YEAR: Junior

SPORT: Soccer

Kutey, who has committed to Marquette, led Aquinas to its fifth consecutive Kansas Class 5A state soccer title with a sudden-death goal 20 seconds into overtime in the Saints’ 2-1 victory over Blue Valley Southwest last Saturday in Emporia. It was Kutey’s 21st goal of the season.

Andrew Madison

SCHOOL: Liberty North

YEAR: Junior

SPORT: Track and field

Madison won the 110- and 300-meter hurdles Saturday at the Missouri Class 3 track and field state championship. He also ran a leg of the Eagles’ first-place 800 relay team. The three victories lifted Liberty North its first state title — in any sport — as the Eagles shared the Class 3 team title with Grandview.
