Stroud’s rolling out weekday lunch menu

Stroud’s restaurant is rolling out a new weekday lunch menu.

Starting Monday, the Fairway restaurant will offer “lunch size” portions of its longtime favorites, including livers and gizzards, chicken fried steak, chicken fried chicken and chicken noodle soup, as well as items like a pan-fried or grilled chicken sandwich, chicken salad, hamburgers, and a soup/salad combo.

Customers also can add sides such as mashed potatoes, cottage fries, green beans, chicken noodle soup or apple sauce — two sides with an entree, one side with a sandwich. Every entree or sandwich also comes with a cinnamon roll.

Sandwiches will cost $9.50 to $9.99, entrees $8.75 to $9.75 (or $16.75 for a full order).

Later this month, Stroud’s, at 4200 Shawnee Mission Parkway, also will offer weekday lunch specials such as chicken pot pie, pot roast, beef tips and noodles, and fried pork chops.

The lunch menu will be available from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday through Friday. The first customers ordering a lunch entree or sandwich will receive a free Stroud’s T-shirt while supplies last.

Chris Booth, brand manager for Stroud’s, said there has been a demand for a weekday lunch to serve all the businesses in the area.

It also will continue to serve its regular menu all day Saturday and Sunday

Stroud’s, which is celebrating its 80th anniversary this year, plans a June opening for its new Overland Park restaurant at 8301 W. 135th St., just west of U.S. 69 in the former Mimi’s Cafe spot.
